About Us
Melia Publishing Services Ltd was started in 1992 by Terry Melia to provide sales and distribution services to English language publishers, both British and American.
With 25 years' sales experience and having spotted the opportunity of creating an efficient sales and distribution company for publishers who did not have their own UK-based operation, Terry took on his first client, Stewart, Tabori and Chang, swiftly followed by Workman Publishing. Terry immediately saw the potential of Workman's distinctive style for the UK and was appointed UK distributor in 1995. This was the beginning of a great relationship which laid the foundations for the successful operation Melia Publishing Services is today.
In the last eighteen years the company's client base has expanded considerably and the number of titles distributed by Melia is now in excess of 10,000. A wealth of top-quality imprints enables Melia to specialise in virtually every conceivable general trade market, with titles as diverse as Really Naughty Dots and 1000 Places to See Before You Die, both of which have sold in excess of 300,000 copies in the UK.
All Melia titles are distributed through Grantham Book Services whose warehousing, distribution, invoicing and collection is second to none.
